1.	OVERVIEW
	Qatar Duty Free Company W.L.L. ("Qatar Duty Free", "we", or "us") wants you to feel safe when visiting our website www.qatardutyfree.com (“Website”) or purchasing duty free products and is therefore committed to protecting your Personal Data and your right to privacy when you do. We want you to understand how we hold and manage your personal data and the measures we take to protect it. This Privacy Notice (“Privacy Notice”) (together with our Terms and Conditions and our Cookie Policy explains how Personal Data are or will be processed by Qatar Duty Free. By "Personal Data" we mean any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. Please read the following carefully to understand how we process your Personal Data. Where you disclose Personal Data on behalf of another person, you undertake and will ensure that the individual whose Personal Data is supplied to Qatar Duty Free has authorised the disclosure and has been provided with a copy of this Privacy Notice before you disclose such Personal Data. If we change this Privacy Notice, we will let you know about the changes by publishing the updated version on our Website.
2.	WHEN DOES THIS PRIVACY NOTICE APPLY?
	This Privacy Notice applies to the processing by Qatar Duty Free of all Personal Data we gather or use when you use our Website, reserve online or purchase duty free products in store and when you interact with us. We will only use your Personal Data in accordance with this Privacy Notice.
3.	WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
3.1	Qatar Duty Free with its registered office at Qatar Airways Tower 3, Airport Road, PO Box 22553, Doha, State of Qatar, is responsible, as controller for the processing of Personal Data described in this Privacy Notice.
4.	HOW WE COLLECT AND RECEIVE PERSONAL DATA
4.1	The sources from which we collect Personal Data depend on our relationship or interaction with you through this site. For example, We may collect and receive Personal Data directly from you when you (a) purchase any duty free products; (b) use or access our Website; (c) communicate with us such as by email, telephone, live chat, in writing or through our customer services pages or social media platforms; or (d) log-in to our e-store using your Qatar Airways Privilege Club credentials.
4.2	We may obtain personal information about you such as device and IP address via automated means through your use of technology, such as when you visit our website or click on advertisements, or links in emails you receive from us.
4.3	Our Website may contain links to enable you to visit third-party websites. Please note that we do not have any control over how the controllers that are responsible for these third-party websites operate or process your Personal Data. It is important that you understand this and check their respective privacy policies and website terms of use.
5.	WHY DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
	This section provides detail on the reasons for which we process your Personal Data. It also identifies the lawful basis under which we process your data to the extent required by the data protection laws in your jurisdiction. To the extent the laws in your jurisdiction do not recognize the lawful basis of legitimate interest or another legal basis specified below for a particular purpose, you consent to the processing of your personal data for that purpose by consenting to the processing in this Privacy Notice.
5.1	When you interact with Qatar Duty Free (online or offline)
(a)	For answering your questions or responding to your complaints or requests
(i)	What does this mean?
	If you get in touch with us in person or by email, telephone, in writing or through our customer services pages, or through social media or by your authorised representative for the purposes of the relevant enquiry, we will use your Personal Data in order to reply to and answer your question or to respond to your complaints or requests.
(ii)	What are our legal grounds for doing this?
	We will process your Personal Data based on the performance of our purchase agreement with you, or in our legitimate business interests depending on the specific case.
(iii)	Which Personal Data do we use for this purpose?
	For this purpose, we use your name, contact details, email address, country of residence, your correspondence with Qatar Duty Free about your question and all other Personal Data necessary to answer your question.
(iv)	How long do we keep your Personal Data for this purpose?
	In relation to the above, your Personal Data will be deleted from our systems in accordance with our internal reasonable retention policies.
(b)	If you login on our Website using your Qatar Airways Privilege Club login credentials
(i)	What does this mean?
	Qatar Duty Free allows you to login using your Qatar Airways Privilege Club login credentials. When you choose to login to our e-store using these credentials, Qatar Duty Free processes your current profile information with Qatar Airways Privilege Club along with your login credentials.
(ii)	Which Personal Data do we use for this purpose?
	For this purpose, we process your email address, first and last name, country of residence, title, phone number, Privilege Club number and Privilege Club membership details including amount of Avios, tier, etc.).
(iii)	What are our legal grounds for doing this?
	For this purpose, we process your Personal Data based on your consent and in our legitimate interests.
(iv)	How long do we keep your Personal Data for this purpose?
	Your Personal Data will be deleted from our systems in accordance with our internal retention policies.
5.2	For compliance with law and to monitor and investigate compliance
(a)	What does this mean?
	Qatar Duty Free needs to comply with certain legal obligations (e.g. responding to government information requests) and to monitor its Website and IT systems to check compliance with Qatar Duty Free’s internal policies and procedures. During monitoring activities, your Personal Data can be accessed and viewed.
(b)	What are our legal grounds for doing this?
	We will process your Personal Data based on: (i) Legal obligation to comply with laws and regulations which are applicable to the retail industry for the purpose of carrying out a risk assessment of customers; (ii) Our legitimate business interests in maintaining adherence to our company policies and the standards which we uphold for our employees, suppliers and partners.
(c)	Which Personal Data do we use for this purpose?
	For this purpose, Personal Data that is stored on Qatar Duty Free's IT systems can be accessed and viewed for compliance purposes. The Personal Data that are accessed and viewed will not be stored, unless we need them to further investigate potential non-compliant behaviour or in the course of legal proceedings.
(d)	How long do we keep your Personal Data for this purpose?
	We do not retain your Personal Data for this purpose, unless they are linked to non-compliant behaviour. We will then keep the relevant Personal Data until the investigation or proceedings have been concluded.
5.3	When you make a purchase from our Qatar Duty Free shops
(a)	What does this mean?
	When you purchase products from our shops, you need to provide Personal Data so that we can use it for processing payment or refunds, checking warranty information, checking travelling restrictions etc.
(b)	Which Personal Data do we use for this purpose?
	For this purpose, (i) For you to make a purchase, we need your first name, last name and flight details; (ii) For you to request for refund / exchange, we would need your name, passport number, home address and signature.
(c)	What are our legal grounds for doing this?
	We process your Personal Data in the performance of the purchase agreement between you and Qatar Duty Free and, where available, our legitimate interest.
(d)	How long do we keep your Personal Data for this purpose?
	For this purpose, your Personal Data will be retained for as long as is legally required or for other business reasons in connection with the purposes described in this Privacy Notice and in line with our data retention policies.
5.4	When you make a reservation of products via our Website
(a)	What does this mean?
	When you reserve products for collection at Hamad International Airport, you need to provide Personal Data so that we can take, handle, deliver products, process payment and communicate with you about reservations and promotional offers.
(b)	Which personal data do we use for this purpose?
	For this purpose, (i) For you to reserve a product , we may need your flight details, first name, last name, contact information and billing address. (ii) For you to request a refund / exchange, we would need your name, passport number, address and signature. In exceptional cases, for verification purposes, we may need additional information.
(c)	What are our legal grounds for doing this?
	We process your Personal Data in the performance of the purchase agreement between you and Qatar Duty Free.
(d)	How long do we keep your personal data for this purpose?
	For this purpose, your Personal Data will be retained for as long as is legally required or for other business reasons in connection with the purposes described in this Privacy Notice and in line with our data retention policies.
5.5	To allow you to connect with us via social media
(a)	What does this mean?
	Qatar Duty Free is active on social media platforms like Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Tiktok, YouTube, and Instagram. When you contact us via social media, we will use your Personal Data in order to answer your questions and to respond to your messages. In addition, when you visit a “Contact us” screen on our Websites you can contact us through a variety of communication channels. We provide you with our email address, for you to send us your feedback and suggested improvements, as well as our Website and our official social media accounts. When you click one of the corresponding icons, you will be referred to the website or app of the applicable third party, whether this is your email provider or a social media platform of which you are a member or subscriber and your access and use of any social media platform is governed by their own terms of use and privacy and cookie policies.
(b)	What are our legal grounds for doing this?
	We understand that you require a convenient method of communicating with us being a subscriber to those social media platforms. Where you have given us your consent to marketing cookies on our Website, we will be allowed to provide you with relevant marketing which will offer you a selection of products when you use those platforms. If you wish to revoke your consent for use of these marketing cookies by Qatar Duty Free you can change your cookie settings on our Website.
(c)	Which Personal Data do we use for this purpose?
	For this, we use the communication channel you have chosen to use to connect with us and any Personal Data you supply to Qatar Duty Free. This may include your name, address, email address, gender and the personal data you have included in your message. In addition, when you click one of the buttons displayed for example “Like” or “Share” or - reshare on our Website to indicate your interest and communicate with your network via the third party social media platform of which you are subscribed or have elected to become a subscriber, the relevant social media platform might place cookies on your device. Any information which you choose to voluntarily post to our interactive forum, is by nature made publicly available to other users who have access to that portion of our Website. We encourage you not to share your Personal Data and we are not responsible for any information you choose to provide or communicate in such forums. Any disclosures you make are at your own risk.
(d)	How long do we keep your Personal Data for this purpose?
	For this purpose, your Personal Data will be retained for as long as is legally required or for other business reasons in connection with the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and in line with our data retention policies.
5.6	If you participate in prize contests, events, competitions, promotions and/or games of chance, to manage your participation
(a)	What does this mean?
	If you give us your consent to do so, we can send you emails with invitations to participate in prize contests, events, competitions and/or games of chance (collectively “Contests”). If you choose to participate in Contests, we need your Personal Data to allow you to participate, to administer the Contests and where you are a winner to announce your winning, to verify your eligibility to enter the Contest, to process the delivery of and distribution of the prizes and to measure the response to the Contests.
(b)	What are our legal grounds for doing this?
	We will process your Personal Data for our legitimate interest in carrying out and administering Contests. We will process your Personal Data based on the terms and conditions of the Contests. If you decline to provide this information, we will not be able to register or enter you into the relevant Contests or award you a prize if you have been successful.
(c)	Which Personal Data do we use for this purpose?
	For this purpose, where we are the organiser or sponsor of the Contest, we process your name, address, email address, passport copy, country of residence, proof of residence or age verification documentation, personal identification documentation, signature, and your entries in the Contests. Please refer to the terms and conditions of the Contests for relevant details of Personal Data processed under a specific Contest. We may also share your Personal Data with third parties sponsors of prizes in order to administer the prizes to you.
(d)	How long do we keep your Personal Data for this purpose?
	For this purpose, your Personal Data will be retained for the duration of the Contests you participate in and until award of the relevant prizes. For example, if you wish a return ticket, after you have flown, your Personal Data gets purged from our systems. Please refer to the terms and conditions of the Contests for details of Personal Data processed under a specific Contest by Qatar Duty Free and a third party prize sponsor.
5.7	Only if you subscribe to the mailing list, for sending you relevant information about Qatar Duty Free
(a)	What does this mean?
	We will occasionally inform you about our special offers, news, and new products and may invite you to participate in Contests via the email address you provide us. You will only receive our personalised newsletters if you subscribe to this mailing list. We may send you reminders about incomplete requests (i.e. cart recovery) and customer services emails to facilitate your order completion.
(b)	What are our legal grounds for doing this?
	We will ask for your consent to send you personalised newsletters. If you no longer want to receive the newsletters, you can unsubscribe anytime by clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ link in any newsletter or at any time via our Website. After receiving your request, Qatar Duty Free will not send you any further newsletters, our special offers or news via email and you will be marked as unsubscribed in our mailing list. Please note that if you have subscribed to receive any newsletters, offers or news from third parties, these service providers may still provide you with offers or news on Qatar Duty Free based on your request to receive such communications. You may change your marketing preferences with these service providers should you choose not to receive communications about Qatar Duty Free.
(c)	Which Personal Data do we use for this purpose?
	For this purpose, we process: (i) your name and email address; (ii) your preferences and interests, such as those that you have actively shared with us, but also those inferred through your registered interactions with Qatar Duty Free Website (for which we may use cookies, please refer to our Cookie Policy which is available on our Website). We may offer you personalised content and marketing based on the profiling of your Personal Data. Profiling is a form of automated processing of your information to evaluate, analyse or predict your preferences and behaviour. (iii) your shopping history, both online and offline i.e. when making a purchase from our shop); and (iv) the links you click on in our emails.
(d)	How long do we keep your Personal Data for this purpose?
	For this purpose, your Personal Data will be kept as long as you choose to stay subscribed to receive these emails from us. When you unsubscribe, your email will be marked as unsubscribed in our mailing list.
5.8	Advertising
	We use advertising platforms like Google Ads, Google Marketing Platform, Facebook, and may use other advertising platforms to serve online advertising promoting our products and services both in search engines, other websites and networks. Some of these activities are done through remarketing, where we display advertisements that we think will be useful. To do so, our site uses tracking scripts from Google Ads, Bing Ads, Facebook and may use tracking pixels and scripts from other third parties to collect information about your use of our Website in order to display remarketing advertisements relevant to your interests and/or to measure the success of our advertising campaigns. These third-party tracking pixels and scripts may set cookies on your browser and use various tracking technologies. We also use Personal Data like email addresses to show you useful advertisements. The information collected by Google, Microsoft, Facebook, and other third parties through their tracking pixels and scripts is stored and processed by them and is subject to their own policies and practices. We encourage you to familiarise yourself with their privacy policies and terms of use. For advertising purposes, we use Personal Data to generate a "lookalike audience" or “similar audience” through advertising platforms such as Google or Facebook. This allows us to target advertisements on their networks to potential customers who appear to have shared interests or similar demographics to our existing customers, based on the platforms' own data. We do not have access to the identity of anybody in the lookalike audience, unless they choose to click on the advertisement. If you wish to opt out of "similar audiences" in Google, you can do so through your Ads Settings and for Facebook you can visit your account and follow the steps.
5.9	Legitimate Interests
	Where Qatar Duty Free relies on legitimate interests as a basis for processing Personal Data, we have considered the interests, rights and freedoms of the corresponding individuals (“Data Subjects”) and carry out a ‘balancing test’ to ensure that our processing is necessary and that our legitimate interests are not overridden by the interests, rights and freedoms of the Data Subjects in question. For instance, when you visit our shops, you may be monitored by closed circuit television for security purposes.
6.	COOKIES

7.	WHO HAS ACCESS TO YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
7.1	Within Qatar Duty Free Qatar Duty Free’s staff is authorised to access Personal Data only if and insofar as necessary to serve the applicable purpose and to perform their jobs. We are an organisation with its head office in Doha, State of Qatar. However, Personal Data we collect may be transferred internationally to Qatar Airways Group entities for business or administrative purposes to countries whose data protection laws may not be as extensive as those in your country of residence. Where necessary, Qatar Duty Free will ensure that adequate safeguards are in place to comply with the requirements for the international transfer of Personal Data under applicable data protection and privacy laws.
7.2	Outside Qatar Duty Free We may be required to disclose certain of your Personal Data in the following cases: (a) to third parties including service providers to perform a function for, or provide a service to, us or who are otherwise appointed by us in connection with the services we offer you including those who are acting as our agent, including, without limitation support service providers, technology providers, specialised consultants, legal advisers, auditors; (b) to third parties, including law enforcement officials, courts and government and regulatory authorities: (a) if we believe disclosure is required by any applicable law, regulation or legal process (such as to respond to subpoenas or judicial orders); or (b) to protect and defend our rights, or the rights or safety of third parties, including to defend against legal claims; and (c) When Personal Data is disclosed to third parties, we will take the required contractual, technical and organisational measures to duly protect such Personal Data in accordance with applicable legislation. The abovementioned disclosures may involve the transfer of Personal Data to and from countries outside of your country of residence, including to and from countries whose data protection laws may not be as extensive as those in your country of residence. Where necessary, Qatar Duty Free will ensure that adequate safeguards are in place to comply with the requirements for the international transfer of personal data under applicable data protection and privacy laws.
8.	HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR DATA SAFE?
	Qatar Duty Free has implemented measures to safeguard Personal Data, as we are committed to ensuring that your Personal Data is secure. In an effort to prevent unauthorised access to, or disclosure of, Personal Data, we have put in place physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect your Personal Data against accidental or unlawful destruction or accidental loss, damage, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access, as well as all other forms of unlawful processing. Although we use reasonable and appropriate efforts to protect Personal Data, we cannot guarantee the security of Personal Data transmitted via the Internet or similar connection. We do not address our Website or services to children (persona below age 18) or knowingly collect Personal Data directly from children. We are not able to identify the age of persons who access and use our Website or subscribe to our newsletters. If you are a parent or a guardian of a child who has provided Personal Data without your knowledge and consent, you may request us to unsubscribe the child.
9.	DATA RETENTION
	We store Personal Data for as long as is reasonably necessary to fulfil the purpose for which they were collected, or to comply with legal, regulatory, tax, or audit requirements. When Personal Data is no longer required, we will take commercially reasonable and technically practicable measures to make the Personal Data irrecoverable or irreproducible in accordance with applicable legislation.
10.	YOUR RIGHTS
	You can exercise your rights of access to and rectification or erasure of Personal Data, or request restriction of processing, or object to processing as well as data portability, or, where consent is our legal basis, withdraw such consent, at any time by sending a request via a dedicated ‘subject access request’ portal (https://www.qatarairways.com/en-qa/contact-us.contactusform-10.html) on Qatar Duty Free’s Website. You may have other rights, including rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”), depending upon your country of residence. We will not charge a fee to respond to your request unless the request may be deemed as manifestly unfounded or excessive. Upon request, we can provide you with a list of third party processors under the Personal Data Privacy Protection Law of the state of Qatar.
